    Wedding Planning in 6 Months

    Subheading to go here

The Post Barn's All Inclusive Vibe

Planning a wedding in just six months? You’re not alone - and you’re in exactly the right place. At The Post Barn, we know that modern couples are couples are choosing shorter engagements, but that doesn’t mean they’re willing to compromise on style, quality, or the overall experience. The biggest hurdle? Juggling countless suppliers and logistics in a short timeframe. That’s why we created our All-Inclusive Vibe package: a streamlined, stress-free wedding package that brings together everything you need to plan your dream day in just six months or less.

Whether you’ve just said "yes" or are ready to start ticking things off your to-do list, here’s our no-fuss six-month wedding planning guide based on what really matters, in the order that makes everything run smoothly.

With our All-Inclusive Vibe, we bundle everything from catering and drinks to styling, floristry, entertainment, and venue coordination. That means less admin, more joy.

    2. Book Your Registrar or Celebrant

After choosing your venue, this is your next non-negotiable. Whether you're planning a civil ceremony or a celebrant-led event, or something more traditional off-site, securing your officiant early ensures your chosen date is locked in. Availability for registrars can be limited, especially during peak months, so this is one of the few things you can’t afford to leave too late.

If you're tying the knot on-site at The Post Barn, we’re always on hand to help you understand the process and provide local contacts if needed. We’ll even create a bespoke timeline so you can visualise your day hour by hour.

    3. Choose Your Photographer

Your wedding photos will become one of your most treasured keepsakes, so it’s important to find someone whose style you love and who makes you feel at ease. Of all the suppliers you will choose on your wedding day, we feel this is the most important as photographs will last a lifetime and we know all too well how quickly the day will go.

While we’ve left this choice in your hands, we’re happy to recommend some wonderful photographers who know all the sweet spots at The Post for the right light, spaces, and best backdrops we have to offer, but we’re also happy to work with your chosen creative too.

Thinking about hiring a Videographer or a Content Creator? It’s a great addition and yes, we’re working on a dedicated blog for that too!

Top tip: book your photographer soon after securing your venue, they fill up fast!

    4. Be Your Guest (List)

Now, the bit that we can’t help with; choosing your guest list. Our All-Inclusive Vibe includes 60 adult guests but The Post can host up to 150 guests seated, so if you have family politics to contend with, we can accommodate many more.

Equally, you might want to invite additional guests just for the party in the evening, for this we can increase your evening grazing numbers.

You might choose to send ‘Save the Dates’ or dive straight into invitations. Prefer to go digital? There are fantastic e-invite and wedding website options that save both time and trees.

Top tip: Remember you are not the hosts, you are the guest of honour! Have who YOU want to attend and don’t let outside opinions cloud your vision.

    When: Month Two - Three

    5. Plan Your Theme & Styling

With your venue and photographer secured, it’s time to start thinking about how your day will look and feel. This is where you can really get creative - your styling choices will set the tone for the entire celebration.

This can feel overwhelming but we recommend you stay true to yourselves and create something personal with your styling. Feeling stuck? Browse Pinterest, Rock My Wedding, and Love My Dress for inspiration, or scroll our Instagram feed for the ultimate Post Barn inspo and check out our All-Inclusive suppliers feeds for some ideas.

As for current trends? In 2026, we’re seeing a rise in bold colours, statement floral arrangements and romantic draping. Minimalist tablescapes with layered textures and sustainable elements are are also having a moment with many couples wanting to focus on the personal touches.

Once you’ve narrowed down your theme, share it with our All-Inclusive suppliers. They’ll help you bring it to life in a way that works beautifully at The Post Barn.

These meetings are where the big picture starts coming together into a seamless, beautiful celebration.

With three to four months to go, start looking for the dress, suit or outfit that makes you feel your absolute best version of yourself. Keep in mind lead times for alterations or made-to-order designs – but most shops can accommodate your timeline, especially when you’re open and upfront about your six-month plan.

Top tip: Pre-loved pieces are not only quicker turnaround times but sustainable and budget-friendly, plus they often come with beautiful stories.
